It’s 2016 and time for me to wake up from my winter slumber and move away from feeling blue to bright! For as much as I like the cooler temperatures of Sacramento winters I always seem to find myself less active and a little less cheerful or positive in comparison to other times of the year. I’ve been this way for as long as I can remember, but because of some very negative experiences and personal challenges I went through towards the end of last year, it seemed to make it a little more difficult for me to bounce back. But I am grateful for time itself. I think that’s just what I needed to finally once again find myself looking towards the positive side of things and renewed my faith in humanity. I believe that we as human beings can make big changes with even small contributions or choices that may seem insignificant, but beneficial to ourselves or the communities we live in.
My goal this year is to make ‘small’ positive choices or changes in my life and not feel guilty about how small or insignificant it may seem. I’m just going to do it and feel good about it. No more overwhelming myself (I think I say this to myself every year). Time to reboot.
