Ah, yes, Valentine’s Day. A day for romance. This month Tom and I celebrated out 12th anniversary and for us it is a reflection of love, loyalty and friendship. The traditional Irish Claddagh ring represents just that and I’ve been wearing mine now for 12 years and I still get compliments on it.
And like tradition, we were sure to incorporate romance with red roses, good food and good wine from one of our favorite El Dorado County wineries, Madrona Vineyards located right next to Apple Hill.
But the center of attention in our Valentine’s Day dinner was this mouth watering filet Mignon. Tom picked up this delicious recipe (Smoked Filet Mignon Wrapped in Applewood bacon) from Slap Yo’ Daddy BBQ. Holy smokes (no pun intended), it was amazing!
For the end of our Valentine’s Day dinner, we topped it off with chocolate covered strawberries.
Cheers to another year with Tom and I hope we have many, many more together. I don’t know what I would ever do without that man. He is truly the love of my life.
