About a week ago I came across a really cool image of Lake Clementine by @heykelseyj who was a guest Instagrammer for @visitsacramento on Instagram. So I looked up Lake Clementine on my maps and checked out Josh’s information on California Through My Lens. Lake Clementine is located in Auburn California. There is a fairly easy trail that you can walk or you can drive fairly close to get to the dam. It’s located off Auburn-Forresthill Road and if you check out the information on the California Parks and Recreation you’ll see that dogs aren’t allowed within the boundaries of the lake.
I would guess that many people don’t hike as much in the Winter as much as they do during other seasons of the year, but the occasional drizzling rain didn’t bother us at all. All the mist and low clouds gave the entire view a mystical look and feeling.
Something to be of cautious of if you decide to go there after it has rained so much is that the trail becomes muddy and slippery.
The cooler weather meant we didn’t have to worry about the heat in open areas where shade wouldn’t have existed even if the sun was out on a hot day.
But views along the way towards and back from the trail are just beautiful see and appreciate.
I definitely plan on coming back here again around May or so to see it after the weather warms up a bit.
